Transportation

Our transportation services provide the mobility needed so that those seeking specialized transportation are able to access basic health services, as well as participate in employment opportunities otherwise just out of reach.

Shores of Hope Transportation Providing Hope through Accessibility

Shores of Hope provides specialized transportation for disabled individuals and women with children from our community needing outpatient care through partnerships with organizations like Alta Regional Center. Our services include transportation to and from day programs for adults.

For Alta Regional Center, we extend transportation to employment and recreation programs for adult clients with mental and physical disabilities. Clients of Alta Regional Center are picked up at their homes in the mornings and transported to the specialized programs in which they participate. Then in the afternoons, they are picked up from the programs and returned safely to their homes. Our drivers are specially trained to assist passengers with limited mobility and possess exceptional abilities. By providing transportation to these programs, adults with special needs can take their place as productive members of our community and receive the specialized help unavailable to them if stranded at home.

" Transportation is the center of the world! It is the glue of our daily lives. When it goes well, we don't see it. When it goes wrong, it negatively colors our day, makes us feel angry and impotent, curtails our possibilities." - Robin Chase, CEO Zipcar

Transportation is also available to mothers with young children who are attending the John H. Jones Peri Natel Substance Abuse Treatment Program, offered by the John H. Jones Clinic of Communicare Health Centers. While their children participate in our Child Development Program, their mothers attend substance abuse treatment. We pick up the family at their home, and take them back to their home after the program. Through our transportation program, mothers suffering from substance abuse can actively change their lives through treatment while their children are safely supervised.
